| Six small square temples have been discovered to date, in a sacred district originally surrounded by a wall. They were constructed in the early stages of the town's development
in the style of the local Celtic tradition. The two conserved foundations impressively show that the later podium temple covered over the earlier edifices. Up to the mid 1st
century AD, the Schönbühl hill was a district containing several such small temples. The square edifices ranged from tiny chapels to tower-like temples encircled by a columned
hall. |
