Schools from Cantons Basel-Landschaft, Basel-Stadt and Aargau are exempt from paying admission fees to the museum.
Teachers and persons accompanying schools (up to 5 persons per class) are admitted to the museum free of charge.
Teachers preparing for a visit with their class are admitted to the museum free of charge.
Late opening: 5 pm to 7 pm at the latest
Duration: No more than 2 hours
Surcharge: CHF 300.– per group (plus museum admission fees)
An additional surcharge of CHF 40.– for the tour guides will be charged from 6 pm onwards.
We accept both the Swiss Museum Pass and the Museum-PASS-Musées.
For safety reasons only a certain number of visitors are permitted in the museum and in the Roman house at any one time.
Schools and groups have access to the museum on the hour and the duration of their visit is for one hour only.

Motorway exit “Augst” or “Rheinfelden”, then follow the brown signposts for “Augusta Raurica”. Please use the dedicated coach parking spaces.
Only in the summer months: from Basel-Schifflände or Rheinfelden to Augst or Kaiseraugst. 20-minute walk to the museum (journey time Basel–Kaiseraugst: 110 minutes, return: 90 minutes).
Various yellow signposts mark the hiking routes, e.g. from Liestal, Birsfelden and Rheinfelden to Augst and Kaiseraugst.

The museum and Roman house are accessible to accompanied wheelchair users, the open-air sights are only partially accessible.
