The Theatre Augusta Raurica invites you to the 2025 season - with four independent formats that present contemporary culture in the oldest theatre venue north of the Alps that is still in use.

RECONNECT – 11 July 2025
Six artists give an insight into their artistic work on the historic Castelen estate. The presentations are the result of a two-week scholarship that offers space for exchange, peace and creativity.

APOLLON – 26 July 2025
Where Roman actors once performed, Nordstern Basel makes electronic music pulsate - a symbiosis of architecture, sound and zeitgeist that transports the ancient heritage into the present and makes it an impressive experience.

ROMAN FESTIVAL – 30/31 August 2025
At Switzerland's largest Roman festival, over 500 participants bring antiquity to life - with gladiators, crafts, culinary delights and hands-on activities for young and old.

IT'S LIT! - 6/7 September 2025
The literary spectacle It's Lit marks the end of the season: two days of poetry slams, readings, plays, writing workshops, literary talks, a literary market and lots of fun and games - a spectacle for literature enthusiasts, the curious, children and families.
