Hands-on teaching full of excitement
Here at Augusta Raurica we put a lot of emphasis on participation. Be it by baking bread using flour from the Roman mill, by shaping pots like the Romans did or during an "archaeological" search for traces with original findings – learning becomes an exciting adventure. An amazing array of information awaits you at every turn.
For reasonably-priced travel arrangements for schools go to RailAway.
Visitors to the museum and the Roman house, the animal parc and the protected houses as well as participants in workshops and guided tours from 12 years of age are required to wear a face mask.
Due to construction work the museum is closed in February and March. The Roman house is accessible free of charge.
On March 26, 2021, we will open our new special exhibition “Under the magnifying glass. Following the traces of a Roman life story".
