Mosaics carefully examined
Roman mosaics have a vast array of patterns. Based on examples from Augusta Raurica the children can learn about the art of laying mosaics, have a go themselves and create their own patterns. Work sheets and mosaic tesserae are available on site.
School grade: 4th – 6th grade (10 to 12 years)
Group size: 25 children maximum (1 accompanying adult per 15 students)
Dates: Daily from April to the end of October
Duration: Approx. 1 hour
Lending times: Mon–Sun 10 am – 4 pm
Place: In the basement of the curia (sheltered). The key for the cupboard with the materials is available from the museum front desk.
Costs: CHF 20.– (deposit: identity card)
