Patterns made from coloured stones

Mosaics were a favourite form of interior decoration in Roman times. First we'll introduce you to the techniques of mosaic-making and the materials used. Then, after a tour of the original mosaics in the Roman House, we'll try our hand at making our own. Different-coloured ceramic pieces and suitable tools are ready for use. While the newly-created works of art are drying out in their beds of plaster, we'll visit the large, original mosaics in the cellar of the curia - the ancient town hall.
