Once again, we expect up to 20,000 visitors to Augusta Raurica over the weekend of 26 and 27 August 2023. Switzerland's largest Roman festival will be held over two days. Around 500 participants will bring the ancient city of Augusta Raurica to life and share their comprehensive knowledge of Roman times, including historical actors in authentic costumes, such as craftsmen, merchants, gladiators, legionaries, officials and the emperor and empress. The main attraction is a large Roman market. Soak up its unique atmosphere or get involved at one of the many hands-on stations. Clay modelling, weaving, felting or bone carving are just a few examples of the activities on offer.
