Kaiseraugst – the picturesque village inside the Roman fort
Take a stroll with us through the sleepy village centre of Kaiseraugst.
On the way, discover the huge remains of the late-Roman fort, stop off at the baths to find out what “wellness” meant in Roman times, visit the building in the Schmidmatt where merchants and artisans plied their trades, and listen to the dramatic stories surrounding the destruction of the fort and the largest silver hoard of late antiquity.
