Federal government supports Augusta Raurica
The Federal Office of Culture has decided that Augusta Raurica will again be one of the 20 museums in Switzerland to receive operating subsidies from the federal government for the 2027–2030 funding period. This is the third time in a row that our institution has been recognised for its cultural and scientific relevance.
We are excited about this renewed recognition, which honours our long-standing commitment to archaeological research, cultural heritage preservation and innovative communication. The federal funding is a key foundation for continuing to inspire a wide audience with an interest in antiquity and addressing current social issues.
We are aware of the responsibility that comes with this funding. The decision reinforces our commitment and motivates us to continue our activities with creativity, expertise and passion. We would like to thank the FOC for its trust and look forward to contributing to the diversity and visibility of Switzerland's cultural heritage in the years to come.
The selection by the Federal Office of Culture was based on an intensive review process by an independent group of experts. Among other things, the appeal of our institution, the significance of our collection and the quality of our educational work were evaluated.
