Experience Roman cuisine: Food fit for a legion
Explore the many flavours of Roman food.
In addition to being formidable fighting units, the Roman legions embodied the diverse cultures that made up the Roman Empire. Besides their basic marching rations, the legionaries enjoyed camp food that was heavily influenced by the Imperium Romanum provinces. We can still see traces of this in our everyday lives today.
Explore the many flavours of Roman food. In addition to fascinating historical context, you can expect a buffet of Roman delicacies which we prepare together. We will cook in Augusta Raurica's traditional bakery – using fire and no electricity.
